to create an arc is to make a connection

THE CONNECTION IS MUSIC

i was never satisfied with what i did with music, but then i learned to be happy about that, and only then did i find elation in it.

i have been making music my entire life, and each stage so different, so vast, so many lifetimes, and yet it is continuous. early on i knew this was the path, yet had no clue the which way to take. the Source has lead me to the correct path.

i want to make music with you. and i want to do it in ways that seem arbitrary, cumbersome, or obtuse. performing in this fashion leads to surprises and  proprietary moments in creation that are yours alone in ways you can only imagine until you do it yourself.

by employing the Creator, He gave me the functionality of the Source in order to create what I saw, heard and felt in my mind. it lead me to find out how sophisticaed we really are, and how we have nearly stopped thinking so much of how wonderful that really is.

with the above being said, and enough mysticism for the ages, can we break it all down together? i am asking a lot of you. i am asking you to put down your shield, to let dictate not what we have seen, nor have heard.

we live in a world of creation, and a physical world that has lost connection to Source, the mental reality. rely not on those tricks the dark monolith has created for you. instead take back your mind and mental spirit.

for me this meant that i would no longer employ "effects" as they were generally known. i set out to create, not only music that inspired me to want to create more music, but to also have people ask, "how are he doing that". and i want to tell them it is the Source that provides.

at the Source we create physical effects, that sound much like the pedals, synthesizers, delays, reverbs, distressors, that we are so familiar with. we create these sounds using none of the aforementioned products. we have found real, physical ways to reproduce what studios could do, with generally NOTHING.

WE CREATE IT.

if this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, then you should contact me.

PARTNERS IN THE ARC OF CREATION

no one person can do this alone. it is silly to think any one person can. my lifelong musical partner in this endeavor is Mitch Anderson. Mitch and I met in 2008, and in 2009 co-founded an all vinyl radio program at Central Michigan University called "Black Circle Radio".

since this time we have gone to the ends of our world and back to find meaning in what we do. mitch is my second hand, and we both acted as guides in unknown territory.

SMOOTH OPERATOR

as Mitch graduated college, and we both moved to different cities, we knew that music, and Black Circle Radio was something that was to be with us for the entirety of our lives. making it stick was going to be a task

while the years rolled on, and connections were being made and lost, a new era of BCR emerged. this new era unearthed a record lathe. a 1949 rek-o-kut. thus began the music beds from the arc of all.

UNDERNEATH THE ARC

the record lathe was and is a life-giver. it is the sustenance for the creative output that was harbored deep within me. for nearly 4 years i was recording daily, coming away with over 600 tracks, and not stopping.

with these tracks Mitch was able to practice mastering and cut records on the "new" lathe for Black Circle Radio beds.

This lead to the inner standing that he and I could create music and sonic expression for just about anything.

i became deeply immersed in jazz, jazz history, as well as ancient Moorish history, and learned the two were in separable. i began to organize jazz shows in bay city, MI, and befriend elder musicians, who to some, had long been forgotten.

WE NEED OUR MIND

the goal is to create purposeful, physical, sonic expression. my output is great, and will work well with many people.

Mitch and i are also here because we are seeking. we search for those who have found the connection we have, and deeply desire to inner stand more.

it could be you, an artist, a label, a printer, an inventor, who connects the arc.

THE MISSING LINK

here is a link to a Black Circle Radio episode that aired Monday, November 1st, 2021. music beds created by the arc of all, and hand cut by Mitch Anderson on a 1949 Rek-O-Kut.

i have nothing available on spotify, bandcamp, or any major streaming platform. please enjoy what you hear after clicking the link.

LIGHTS OUT!!!

i am currently playing with multi-instrumentalist Donovan Boxey, who is a graduate of the Central Michigan University Music Department with emphasis on Jazz. Boxey has already made a name for himself joining Mike Johnston's Northwoods Improvisers (Faruq Z, Bey, Mike Carey, Skeeter Shelton, Mike Gilmore, Nick Ashton), several of Doctor Professor Leonard King's groups, and recording a duet record with fellow collaborator and new Northwoods member, Dominic Bierenga .

i started organizing jazz, improv, and genre-fluid shows in Bay City. the shows included Detroit jazz artists and improvisors, many who had not played in years with groups. this also lead me to becoming an auxiliary percussionist for Northwoods Improvisors, and recording several tracks with them on their new record "RAFT", which is astonishing.

my main collaborator and partner is Mitch Anderson. we nearly do it all together, and any music venture is an equal effort done by both parties. there is little separation, and it works very well.
